What is it about a business card that makes you feel so official?

When you get business cards, you just get that warm and fuzzy. For the latest details, I am now settled into my new team at Microsoft. I am a program manager, aka feature designer for visualizations in the Monitoring and Analytics side of Microsoft Office Performance Point Server 2007.

Currently we are in the process of working on new and exciting stuff so it’s a lot of fun. Conversely this is a huge product and I still have so much to learn and many books to read.

I am working in the Redmond main campus so if you are a Microsoftie and want to grab lunch or a coffee and shoot the breeze send me a mail or IM.

So far I am loving Redmond and the job is shaping up to be very interesting. Add that to working with a very bright and talented team and the future looks great!

I will be blogging on Microsoft’s Performance Point blog also as well as monitoring the Technet discussion boards, I will shoot some links out for that and add them to my blogroll soon. Enjoy and thanks for reading.

I spent a little time this evening updating the site. I added some music, some of my print work, and did some general house keeping to make it look a little more attractive.

The site is looking great now and I appreciate the positive feedback I have received so far.

The cat is out of the bag…ChannelFlip.com Launches!

For the past few months I have been working with Wil Harris on his new project ChannelFlip.com. This has been quite the top secret endeavor and I have been dying to tell you all about it. Since today it’s officially launching into beta and I am sure Wil won’t mind the traffic, here goes.

Comprised of 3 shows at launch that are the perfect “bite” size chunks of tech and lifestyle content, the Channel Flip network is great for those of you who need a quick break at work, some good time killer content for your mobile video device, or just those of you who want to make sure you are hip to the latest in the world of Tech, Video Games and Movies.

Wil, along with his crew of hosts and video gurus have put together some amazing content. I was lucky enough to catch a sneak preview of an episode and I couldn’t be more impressed. The quality is top notch, the content is relevant, and the show is easy to watch and comfortable to listen to. No Wacky Waving Inflatable Arm Flailing Tube Men here, I have it on good authority that the advertising will be tasteful and non obtrusive.

Wordpress 2.3

If you are in the Wordpress development community and have been under a rock, you will find out that Wordpress 2.3 has been released. The big new feature in WP 2.3 is Tags. Personally, and from the community at large, the concensus is that the WP Tag implementation is not quite as good as The Ultimate Tag Warrior’s plugin, but it is usable and will probably continue to get better.

If you are using UTW, it’s not yet compatible with 2.3 so don’t upgrade just yet. I am using 2.3 on this website as well as my new Take My Tech website.

I am happy to report no problems so far, I will probably address any technical issues and comments on my Philoking.com blog.

New Project Launching Soon…

I wish I could say more about this, but I will elaborate more soon. The Top Secret project I am working on will launch very soon. The date is supposed to be Oct. 1, but I am not sure if all of the content will be done by then. I have seen some of the early work and it’s looking fantastic.

Keep your eyes open and I will post as soon as it’s launched.

For my part I did four websites, Wordpress hosted, custom templates and a tad of coding.

I finally got my domain back! This domain had been stranded with a locked registrar for a long time. It was finally made available again and I was able to purchase it back. I will slowly be migrating all of my development work and portfolio to this website.

I do some freelance work when available, but this is mostly to showcase my work and provide the latest news on my technical and career development. I will probably not update this site very much, but it does provide some clarity by removing irrelevant content from Philoking.com, my blog.
